Man wanted in Dallas caught in Mesilla traffic stop.

Jason Lee Hankins, 32, wanted for murder in Dallas and for drug possession and armed-and-dangerous burglary in Austin, Texas, was arrested Tuesday by Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported today on its Web site.

Hankins and his companion, 24-year-old Natalie Jorgensen, were pulled over in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am near University Avenue and Avenida de Mesilla in the town of Mesilla around noon, the Sun-News said.

A records check found that Hankins was wanted on warrants from Dallas and Austin, and he was placed under arrest, as was Jorgensen, who was wanted on methamphetamine charges in Fort Worth, according to the paper.

Deputy Robyn Gojkovich told the Sun-News that the Grand Am had been listed as stolen from Hurst County, Texas.

Both Hankins and Jorgensen are being held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center, the paper reported.
