Nuclear Complex Transformation Comments Due Permalink comment E-mail

Time is running out for you to submit your comments on the National Nuclear Security Administration's Complex Transformation draft environmental study. This is the National Environmental Policy Act analysis of the NNSA's scheme to rejigger its nuclear weapons complex, shrinking some stuff, building some bomb parts at Los Alamos and Y-12 (in Oak Ridge), reducing staff, etc.

I'll be honest. If I were you, I wouldn't sweat a whole lot of bullets about this. There are nine months left in the Bush Administration, and whoever runs the show beginning next Jan. 20 will almost certainly rethink this. That said, however, this is the pageant of democracy, and I could be wrong, in which case you would have missed your chance to play a role.

More information, and an electronic goober to submit comments via the Intertubes here. Comments due April 30.
