Farmington toddler dies in Albuquerque hospital

A Farmington toddler who was airlifted to Albuquerque after being found in a backyard swimming pool died, according to the Farmington Times.

Robert Nicholls,  19 months old, was pulled from a swimming pool after playing in a fenced-in play area. The near-by ground-level swimming pool was covered, but not secured, police said. The toddler apparently escaped the fenced-off play yard through a gate that didn't latch consistently, officials said.
