Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain plans to make his first campaign stop in New Mexico on Monday, the Journal has learned.

McCain is to appear at an open-to-the-public veteran's memorial service in Albuquerque, his campaign confirmed. He also has one additional event here that day, though the McCain camp didn't immediately provide specifics.

The announcement came as the McCain campaign took exception to some recent comments made by Gov. Bill Richardson concerning McCain's foreign policy.

For more details, pick up a copy of Wednesday's Journal.
