Mother, daughter found Monday with dead woman's car just south of Las Vegas.

A mother and daughter wanted for questioning in last week's slaying of a 66-year-old woman in Leesburg, Va., were apprehended near Las Vegas, N.M., on Monday after using the dead woman's credit card, KRQE News 13 reported.

Kimphoung T. Dong, 39, and Julie T. Dong, 18, were driving the dead woman's car when they were arrested by San Miguel County sheriff's deputies and State Police on Monday and were being held on stolen-car charges as the murder investigation continues, News 13 reported.

According to KRQE, the women stopped at the Phillips 66 Food Mart in Romeroville on Interstate 25 just south of Las Vegas to buy gas and Subway sandwiches, and when they handed the manager a credit card, the Visa card was flagged as stolen.

"All the cops and sheriffs, everybody came in," store manager Joanne Salazer told News 13. "They had shotguns; they had guns and all kinds of stuff."

Hanh Hoang, 66, was found dead last Thursday in an upstairs bedroom of her townhouse in Leesburg, Va., and her four-door 2005 blue Honda Accord with Virginia registration KFL-3707 was reported stolen, according to a story in the Loudon (Va.) Times-Mirror.

Leesburg police spokesman Lt. Jeff Dube would not say whether the two women stopped in New Mexico were related to Hoang or whether they lived in the same house with her, the Times-Mirror reported.

Dube also wouldn't tell the Times-Mirror whether the women were persons of interest in the slaying, but the Leesburg Today newspaper reported that the two were being held on Virginia warrants for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and haven't been charged with any other crimes.
