Continued warm weather expected this week; forecasters keep eye on Edouard
Local weather forecasters are talking about the return of the monsoonal flow of air over the Southwest United States even as they watch tropical storm Edouard. Forecast is for highs in the low 90s this week in Albuquerque (which is about normal), with an increasing chance of moisture. Here's a snippet from the forecast discussion: "Upper level high pressure to the east of New Mexico will keep abundant moisture pushing into the northwestern two thirds of the state through the end of the week and likely beyond. Isolated to scattered showers and storms will increase today and into Tuesday with slow moving storms capable of heavy rainfall in isolated locales. Temperatures will see subtle drops and relative humidities will see subtle increases through mid week due to increased storms...Cloud cover...And moist outflows. A weak back door cold front will approach the northeastern plains late Tuesday and into Wednesday morning...And this will allow dewpoints/humidities to increase more in this area behind the shift in wind direction.
