Sen. Domenici Stumps for Pearce in New Ad Permalink comment E-mail

Sen. Pete Domenici is on the tube in New Mexico, urging the state's voters to "do the right thing" and vote for Steve Pearce to replace him in the U.S. Senate.

Pearce, a Republican, is trailing Tom Udall, a Democrat, in the U.S. Senate race, according to last Sunday's Journal poll.

A Domenici endorsement could help Pearce, especially with undecided moderates and rank-and-file Republicans who are not yet keyed into this race. However, the retiring senator's late endorsement of Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M., wasn't enough to lift her to victory in her hard-fought June primary election battle against Pearce.
