Weather Service says upper elevations to get a foot of snow
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of Northern New Mexico (see map)
Here's the text of the warning:
A FEW RAIN SHOWERS AND PERHAPS A THUNDERSTORM OR TWO WILL DEVELOP
ACROSS NORTHERN NEW MEXICO DURING THE EVENING. PRECIPITATION WILL
INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT AND STILL FURTHER TUESDAY
MORNING WITH SNOW LEVELS FALLING THROUGH THAT PERIOD. AS THIS SYSTEM
HAS YET TO DEVELOP...THERE IS NO PAST HISTORY WITH THIS SYSTEM
WHICH MAKES PINPOINTING SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AT THIS TIME QUITE
DIFFICULT. BUT AT LEAST 4 TO 8 INCHES GENERALLY ABOVE 7500 SEEMS
POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN NEW MEXICO THROUGH TUESDAY WITH POSSIBLY
UP TO 10 OR 12 INCHES ON THE HIGHER PEAKS.
