Trail now goes from UNM to Alameda

An addition to Albuquerque's North Diversion Channel Trail  officially opened yesterday, extending the current trail from Paseo del Norte north to Alameda and Balloon Fiesta Park.

The trail cost $1.2 million and is the first in a series of trail upgrades near Menaul, Comanche, and Candelaria. The trail was open last week to cyclists who wanted easier access to the Balloon Fiesta.

The trail allows cyclists to go from UNM to the Alameda area without ever being on a roadway.
