Storm moves out of N.M. leaving sunny skies

The rain and snow that moved through New Mexico Tuesday is only a memory, bringing with it clear skies and a rebound in temperatures.

At the Sandia Peak Ski Area, around three inches of heavy, wet snow fell. It was even cold enough for the road to ice up in some spots. Other areas of the East Mountains reported about an inch of snow.

Two Colorado ski resorts will open for the season today.  Arapahoe Basin will have one lift running when it opens. Loveland Ski Area will also open this morning. Both have an 18-inch base.

Albuquerque area forecast:

Today: Patchy fog before noon. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 67. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 41. Southeast wind around 10 mph becoming northeast.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 70. North wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm.
