Election Day turnout looks light in much of Albuquerque today, and the county clerk isn't reporting serious problems yet. Here's a look at what I've heard so far: - Rick Abraham, the Republican candidate for county clerk, said presiding judges at La Cueva High School aren't letting him or other candidates campaign there, even though they are 100 feet from the polling location. He and the other candidates contacted police. County spokeswoman Liz Hamm said she believes the candidates are allowed to campaign outside the 100-foot zone, but the judges might be confused about an APS policy prohibiting campaigning on property. That policy is supposed to be waived on Election Day, Hamm said.
- A fatal motor-vehicle accident outside Jackson Middle School made it difficult for people to get into the polling location. The site did remain open to voters, however. Jackson is in the Northeast Heights, near Indian School and Eubank.
- Some voting machines weren't working and had to be replaced.
- Turnout is consistent at Taylor Ranch on the West Side but appears to be light elsewhere.
