ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico's former U.S. attorney, David Iglesias, has a new job prosecuting suspected terrorists held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Iglesias says he's been hired as a prosecutor in the Office of Military Commissions and has been reactivated in the Navy as a captain. He is based in Washington, but says he'll make frequent trips to Cuba.

Iglesias says the job is the most important work he's done in his 25 years as a lawyer because the focus is on people who, he says, have harmed the United States.

Iglesias says he underwent a vetting procedure last summer and fall. He took the job in October.

He says he's been taking care of administrative details and has begun reviewing cases. He doesn't know when his first case will come to trial.
