The National Weather Service is raising some winter storm watches and warnings for New Mexico as another round of precipitation heads our way.
From Jessie Haro at the NWS Albuquerque office: A Pacific storm system will impact New Mexico beginning tonight and lasting through Thursday afternoon. The storm will have plenty of moisture to work with, and while much of its impact will be felt over northwest New Mexico, all of New Mexico will feel some effect from it.
Albuquerque metro area: One to two inches possible, heaviest in the NE Heights and West Mesa, and potentially nasty for your morning commute. Santa Fe: 2 to 4 inches of new snow, more in the high parts around town. Jemez Mountains (this means you, Los Alamos!): 6 to 10 inches of new snow. (This probably means the story I need to talk to lab guys about tomorrow is questionable.) Gallup/Grants: 7 to 9 inches of new snow - more west of the continental divide. Expect wind, too, which means blowing snow. Jessie and the crew at the Weather Service have much more on their site. Click on their map (which is particularly brightly colored right now) for details on your area. We'll also have more here as we get it.
