When I signed up for Twitter a year ago, I was lured by the sense that all the cool kids were doing it. (Actually, one cool kid, you know who you are). It's one of those things that's hard to explain, and that is evolving in usefulness, is potentially absolutely useless and a total waste of time. But for people who live their lives plugged in to the 'Net, it's a hoot.
Andrew Stone, the Albuquerque hacker I wrote about in this morning's paper who writes iPhone software, gets all that. He's one of those perennial early adopter types who saw Twitter's promise about the same time I did. He's done quite nicely by it, and his app, Twittelator, is a very cool tool if you're one of those "always on" iPhone types. Got a hilarious email from Andrew this morning regarding his 15 minutes of front-page fame: My older hippie friends have been calling me today. My younger hippie friends have been tweeting.
Andrew and I both are, in fact, old, but we've been tweeting this morning about the story. Not sure what that means. Follow me on Twitter here, or Andrew here. (screenshot of Twittelator courtesy Andrew)
