Doug Turner, head of public relations firm DW Turner, is putting together a campaign team for governor.

A center-right Republican, Turner plans to make an announcement in four to eight weeks.

Turner, no stranger to gauging public opinion, said Monday "the environment is good" to take the governor's seat away from Democrats.

Other Republicans expressing interest in the office are Allen Weh, Greg Zanetti, Janice Arnold-Jones and Heather Wilson.
