    Work To Begin
    On I-10 Widening
LAS CRUCES — Construction to widen an 18-mile stretch of I-10, from Las Cruces to the Texas state line, is about to begin and delays should be expected.
Work to expand several drainage culverts that cross beneath the highway will begin on Feb. 8. That is anticipated to take about three to four weeks to finish and should evolve into full-blown construction to add additional eastbound and westbound lanes, for an eventual total of six.
Bridget Spedalieri, Transportation Department spokeswoman, urged patience while driving through the construction zone. An average of 32,376 vehicles travel along the Las Cruces/El Paso portion of I-10 every day.
