LAS CRUCES — More than 500 people already work at Convergys Corp.'s customer support center in Las Cruces and the company hopes to add 150 more to that total.
Convergys announced that it will hold a recruitment open house from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday at its contact center at 4201 Del Rey Blvd. as it seeks to fill 150 full-time positions. The company already employs 546 workers at the facility.
Convergys reports that new employees will provide customer service support for a client in the telecommunications industry.
Company spokesperson Amy Williams said this shows that the company is happy with the work force in Las Cruces.
"There's growth and that's what attracted us to the area," Williams said. "Hopefully we can grow more."
The Cincinnati-based Convergys opened its Las Cruces facility in April 2008. Martin Grygar, Convergys site leader at the location, said the hiring will not be contained to just next week.
"We will accept applications and conduct interviews with qualified candidates during the recruitment open house, and will be hiring into the first quarter of 2010," Grygar said in a company statement.
