- 2009-11-08 at 11:00 AMRequiem318 Silver SWPlease join The Very Rev. Mark Goodman, Clergy and Congregation of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John at 11am Sunday, November 8th for a special Requiem service. The 35 voice Cathedral Choir will enhance the morning worship service with the singing of the four-part Renaissance polyphonic setting of the Requiem by Tomas Luis de Victoria. Known as the Spanish Palestrina, Victoria was the most famous composer of 16th century Spain. In his music is found a mystical intensity and a direct emotional appeal. This particular Requiem setting dates back to 1583 and is the first time it has been sung in the State of New Mexico within the context of a liturgical setting. Please come and join us for this special Sunday liturgy. — Cathedral of St John
