LA JOYA -- A small herd of cattle ambles down a dirt road, some cows breaking into an excited trot as they smell the alfalfa hay in the back of Eloy Romero's pickup.
Romero's dogs -- Gordo, Freckles and Galie -- bark loud warnings from the back of the truck as they guard the hay. One hungry cow, ignoring the warnings, dives into the hay but jerks her head back, away from Gordo's snapping jaws.
