The mother of the former Mesa Vista High School teacher charged with having sex with an underage student has been suspended from her job at the school district.
Angela Ortiz "was placed on administrative leave as of Tuesday of this week," said Andy Lopez, vice president of the Mesa Vista Consolidated Schools board.
