Getting Started

After you open the iPad newspaper application, you will find the latest news displayed across the top of the screen. Swipe to see more breaking news stories, or click on a headline to read the full story. To see a full list of recent news, click on the "Latest News" tab at the top left.
Below are thumbnails of the latest newspapers. Subscribers can log in to download all of these editions for free, or non-subscribers can click on each thumbnail to pay $1.99 per edition through iTunes.
Note: If you are a subscriber but don't have a username and password, register for FREE here.
Logging in
Subscribers should log in upon opening the application to get all of the newspaper content at no additional charge. To do so, click on the settings button at the top right, and tap "ABQJournal iPad Replica" to authorize your account. Type in your ABQJournal username and password (the same one you would use to log on to www.abqjournal.com). Now you can download all of the newspaper editions for free.
You can also authorize your account by tapping the "Store" tab in the top left and hitting "Authorize" at the bottom of the pop-up.
Viewing the Replica
To get the day's paper, go to the "Store" and download the latest edition. You can set the application to automatically download new issues in this box as well.
Once the edition downloads, click on the thumbnail to view the replica edition. By holding the iPad in landscape view, you can see full pages. Swipe from page to page much like a printed newspaper. View any article, photo or advertisement by pinch-zooming, or you can click on any blue-highlighted headline to open the full article in a new window, much like the eJournal.
Within the new article window, the settings button in the top right allows you to share the story via email, Twitter or Facebook. In this view, you can also increase font size or have the article read aloud.
In the newspaper view, you can jump to sections by clicking on the tabs at the bottom of the page. Also included in the replica edition are special sections, such as Business Outlook, and zoned editions, like Journal North. Every Sunday will also include that week's magazine, like Fit or Sage.
