Attorney General, Governor push initiatives in Albuquerque.
Attorney General Patricia Madrid will hold a news conference at 10:30 a.m. today at the Albuquerque High School library to unveil her cyber tip line for reporting sexual solicitation on the Internet and online predation of children.
And Gov. Bill Richardson will be at the Barelas Senior Center, 714 7th St. SW, Albuquerque, to tell senior citizens about his plan to ask lawmakers for more funding of a program that will help low-income and elderly citizens pay their heating bills this winter.
The governor also will help Albuquerque residents fill out applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Families earning less than 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level qualify for the benefits. That includes: $1,196 monthly income or $14,355 annual income for a family of one; $1,604 monthly income or $19,245 annual income for a family of two; $2,011 monthly income or $24,135 annual income for a family of three; and $2,419 monthly income or $29,025 annual income for a family of four.
Applicants should bring with them the following information when applying for LIHEAP: proof of household income for the past 30 days; a photo ID of the person filing the application; a Social Security Number (SSN) for all household members; and citizenship/resident status for all household members.
