Journal entertainment geek Dan Mayfield dragged me to the Albuquerque Press Women's blogapalooza today, a bunch of bloggers at the organization's monthly luncheon. Three of the panelists were Duke City Fixers, (including, full disclosure, a certain blogger with a similar last name to my own).
What fascinated me, as an old-school news guy who writes things printed on sheets of dead trees as well as things printed on bits coursing the Internet, was the incredible diversity the new technology offers for people who have something interesting to say who didn't used to have a good place to say it publicly.
Johnny_Mango , one of my favorite local bloggers, was on the panel, along with someone I'd heard of but never met or read before: Christine Robinson, Unitarian minister and author of the Iminister blog. She started the blogging experiment during a church sabbatical, and found that she had readership no only here in Albuquerque, but around the world. The Interweb is like that. Write it and they'll find you.
