Ridin’ the bus

I ride the city bus three or four times a week, but I rarely run into anyone I know, much less someone I cover on the City Hall beat. But there was Councilor Isaac Benton on Friday when I climbed onto the Route 66 bus headed east up Central Avenue.

He was wearing his bicycle helment. He called out my name, and I said, "Hi," but there wasn't much chance to talk, as the bus was pretty crowded.

I haven't run into them yet, but City Councilor Michael Cadigan and County Commissioner Michael Brasher also ride the bus.
