Rep. Heather Wilson R-N.M., spent several minutes on Glenn Beck's national TV show last night castigating feminist icon Gloria Steinem for her remarks about Sen. John McCain.
Over the weekend, Steinem said McCain's history as a POW in Vietnam doesn't qualify him to be president, and that if a woman named "Joan McCain" had been captured by the enemy Americans would have turned against her, not turned her into a hero.
Wilson, participating in a rather one-sided discussion of the incident with CNN talk show host Beck and a conservative female pundit (perhaps no one was willing to come to Steinem's defense on national TV?) called the statements reprehensible. Beck must have decided that Wilson was uniquely qualified to comment because she is an Air Force Academy graduate.
