The state Republican Party just issued a press release announcing that the Republican National Committee's state chairman's meeting will be in New Mexico next week. They'll be gathering at the swanky Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort north of Albuquerque next Tuesday through Friday.

Albuquerque, NM – We are pleased to announce that the 2008 Republican State Chairmen’s Meeting will be held in New Mexico at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort April 1-4. The Republican National Committee holds a summer meeting, winter meeting, and state chairmen’s meeting each year. The NM GOP competed for and is happy to be hosting this annual meeting of Republican State Chairmen from throughout the country.
New Mexico Republican Chairman Allen Weh remarked, “We are honored to host the Republican National Committee and Republican Party officials from throughout the country in our beautiful state next week. The selection of New Mexico for this important meeting is a testament to our battleground status, and to the well-held belief that some of the most competitive and important elections in the country will take place in New Mexico this year.”
