Stimulus Agreement-New Mexico Reaction Pending

That was fast: As you may have heard, House and Senate negotiators reached agreement a few hours ago on a final economic stimulus package.

It came as a bit of a surprise, since the package is so large and the fine print was creating plenty of partisan contention. Some Hill staffers were caught off guard and thought a deal wouldn’t come until tomorrow at the earliest.

Details are scarce right now, but I’m harassing New Mexico’s congressional delegation for New Mexico specific numbers. The House Democrats are in a caucus meeting now. Based on a flurry of emails over the past few minutes, it’s still unclear if anyone from New Mexico’s delegation will have much to say about the package tonight.

Meanwhile, the Center for American Progress has a little instant analysis. And I guess it’s slightly dated now, but this interactive, state-by-state map is pretty cool, too. ProPublica is also on the case. Stay tuned for details on New Mexico numbers as they come in.
