Rozie, the Rio Grande Zoo’s very own pregnant elephant, is expected to have a girl. Tests indicate the fetus is “most likely female,” according to a city of Albuquerque announcement.
Only a handful of elephants are born each year in North America. Rozie is due late this summer.
I wrote about her pregnancy last year. I couldn’t decide whether to start with an elephant joke or a “Whole Lotta Rosie” AC/DC reference.
