County Keeps High Bond Rating

A tight economy hasn’t squeezed Bernalillo County’s top-notch credit rating.

Standard & Poor’s has assigned the county a “AAA” rating for the fourth consecutive year. The agency cited the county’s expanding economic base and low overall debt burden.

“We are one of the few counties in the United States to maintain these very favorable ratings,” County Commission Chairman Alan Armijo said in a news release.
