Gov. Bill Richardson is traveling to Washington D.C. today to address a conference convened by the Obama administration on the American outdoors.
Richardson’s office said the two-term Democratic governor will speak to conference attendees Friday about the importance of cooperation between the federal government and states regarding conservation issues.
The White House Conference on America’s Great Outdoors was announced last month. According to a White Hosue press release, the event will bring ranchers, sportsmen, government officials and tribal leaders from around the country together to discuss the challenges surrounding modern-day land conservation.
In addition to his speech, Richardson is also scheduled to participate in a panel led by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.
Obama is also slated to address the conferees on Friday morning.
