Firefighters have contained a 1 1/2-acre bosque fire burning just south of Tingley Beach, near Kit Carson Park.
The Albuquerque Fire Department received a 911 call at about 7:25 reporting the fire, which was located west of Tingle Drive and Alcalde Court.
Firefighters do not expect the fire to spread anymore, but crews will remain on scene for the time being and possibly overnight, Albuquerque Fire Chief James Breen told reporters this evening.
A person suspected of causing the fire has been taken into custody.
7:42 p.m. — The Albuquerque Fire Department has confirmed there is a fire in the bosque near Tingley Beach. A spokeswoman said firefighters are working with the Bernalillo County Fire Department to battle it. She said she did not know the size of the fire yet.
