Nibbles: Cafe Giuseppe

The Downtown location of this business seems to be aimed at customers who want their coffee to go. Inside are five stools and a small, simple table with two chairs. There is a limited sandwich menu. My friend Pete and I drank – and ate – at the table. We each got panini, compact sandwiches on a fine crusty bread and pressed.

I ordered the Panini Turkey ($7), which comes with sliced turkey, provolone, roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes and a pesto sauce.

Pete ordered the Panini Veggie ($6.50), which has havarti and provolone cheeses, roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto.

Cafe Giuseppe

LOCATION: 222 Gold SW

246-4338

HOURS: 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. There also is a Cafe Giuseppe location at 3222 Silver SE

We each ate one-half of our own sandwich and one-half of the other’s. We thoroughly enjoyed both.

To drink, I had a cup of cafe mocha ($3.20) which had a cumulus nimbus swirl of milk on the surface. Pete had a small can of sparkling clementine soda ($1.85).

And we liked the people watching.
