Coming storm could foul NM interstates

Our first Grade A winter storm of the season could make travel on New Mexico’s interstates dicey beginning Thursday but especially Friday evening into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Heavy wind could cause trouble Thursday (Dec. 1), especially along Interstate 25 in northeast New Mexico, according to Brent Wachter at the National Weather Service. But the real trouble will come Friday evening into Saturday, with heavy snow forecast that could force interstate closures. Interstate 40 east of Albuquerque is at the greatest risk, but I40 west, along the Gallup-Grants area, and north I25 could also have problems, according to Wachter:
