AZTEC (AP) — Aztec’s mayor and members of the city commission plan to meet in closed session to discuss the recent arrest of the town’s city manager.
Joshua Ray was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after he allegedly pinned his wife down on the couple’s bed and prevented her from leaving during an incident Christmas night.
Ray was released Saturday from the San Juan County Detention Center and has since returned to work.
Mayor Sally Burbridge tells The Daily Times they will look at how the arrest may affect Ray’s work as well as other factors.
Savannah Ray told investigators she struggled with her husband and tried to get away but couldn’t.
Joshua Ray acknowledged to investigators the couple was arguing, but disputed claims he pinned his wife to the bed.
