UPDATED: Las Cruces Girl, 1, Still Missing

UPDATE 2/21/12: Nevaeh back in the country; Jauregui, Mendez arrested

Las Cruces police are once again asking for the public’s help in locating a 1-year-old girl who is considered missing and possibly in danger, the Las Cruces Police Department said in a news release.

Nevaeh Jauregui, who is about 25 inches tall and weighs approximately 20 pounds, was last seen in Las Cruces with her mother on Dec. 26, 2011.

The child had been in the temporary custody of her grandmother, but was taken by her mother, 19-year-old Nicole Jauregui and her mother’s boyfriend, 20-year-old Jose Mendez on Dec. 26, police said.

for drugs, and warrants have been issued for their arrest.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of $1,000 for information that leads to the girl’s safe return and the arrests of Jauregui and Mendez, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).

6:44am 12/29/11 — Police Seek Missing, Endangered Persons

The New Mexico State Police on Wednesday posted two missing endangered persons advisories.

On behalf of the Las Cruces Police Department, State Police issued an advisory for Nevaeh Juaregui, a year-old white female toddler with black hair and brown eyes, who was last seen on Monday, with her mother, Nicole Juaregui, and her mother’s boyfriend, Jose Mendez.

The child is described as being 2 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 18 pounds, and she was wearing red pants and white “Elmo” pajamas.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Las Cruces police at (575) 528-4137 or the New Mexico Department of Public Safety’s Missing Person Hotline at 1-800-457-3463.

Also on Tuesday, the State Police issued an advisory on behalf of the Gallup Police Department calling 24-year-old Lyndsay R. Badonie, a Native American female with black hair and brown eyes who was last seen in Gallup on Monday, a missing and endangered person.

Badonie is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has a scar on one arm.
