Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrests of three women for allegedly using duplicate vehicle titles and false information to secure fraudulent loans, the organization said in a news release.
Warrants have been issued for Karen Joanna Carter, 20, and Krystle L. Bueno, 19, on felony counts of fraud and conspiracy, the release said.
Local police and New Mexico State Police are investigating multiple reports of the women using duplicate vehicle titles and false information to secure loans in Las Cruces, El Paso and in surrounding communities, according to the release.
Carter and Bueno are believed to be working with a third woman, 19-year-old Janet Lara, to obtain thousands of dollars in fraudulent loans from the finance companies, the release said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the three women is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).
