A man who had refused to come out of a home on the 1200 block of Pitt St. NE following an early-morning domestic violence call-out and SWAT standoff left the house and was taken into custody without incident, Officer Tasia Martinez of the Albuquerque Police Department said in a news advisory.
According to APD, a woman was assaulted and choked by her boyfriend early this morning, managed to leave the house and called police.
When police arrived around 4:08 a.m., the man refused to come outside, leading to the standoff that ended a short time ago.
Police also learned that the man had a handgun inside the home, according to the APD advisory.
A 5-month-old child reportedly was inside the house during the incident, according to 770 KKOB Radio news.

Albuquerque police have converged on a northeast Albuquerque neighborhood near Eubank and Candelaria, where an unidentified male involved in an apparent domestic squabble is refusing to come out of a house on Pitt Street NE, KOAT-TV is reporting.
Pitt Street is located off Candelaria between Eubank and Morris.
According to KOB-TV, police had come to the house around 2 a.m. in response to a domestic-violence call-out, stayed for about 45 minutes, then left, only to return later this morning.
Neighbors are being urged to stay inside their homes while the situation is being resolved, KOB-TV said.
It was unclear how many people were inside the house or whether any weapons are involved.
