Jambo Cafe captured the Best Soup Award for the third year in a row at Saturday’s Souper Bowl.
The restaurant also picked up awards for Best Seafood Soup and Best Decorated Table. The annual event raised $80,000 for The Food Depot, a food bank serving northern New Mexico. Jambo Café’s winning entry was Basil Ginger Roasted Butternut Squash with Crab. The Pantry Restaurant received the Best Cream Soup for their entry, Creamy Green Chile Chicken. The Best Savory Soup honor went to Tune-Up Cafe for their Tortilla Chicken Lime with Cream Cheese and Avocado, while Santa Fe Capital Grill captured the Best Vegetarian Soup honor for their entry, Cream of Zucchini. Competitors in the 18th annual Souper Bowl included Anasazi Restaurant, Andiamo! Italian Trattoria, Blue Corn Café & Brewery Southside, Bon Appetit at IAIA, Café Pasqual’s, Dinner for Two, Jambo Café, Kingston Residence of Santa Fe, La Casa Sena, La Plazuela at La Fonda, Luminaria Restaurant at the Inn and Spa at Loretto, Nath’s Speciality Catering, Osteria d’Assisi, Palacio Café, The Pantry Restaurant, Pizza Etc, Plaza Café Southside, Pueblo Deli, Red Sage at Hilton Santa Fe Resort & Spa at Buffalo Thunder, Rio Chama, Santa Fe Bar & Grill, Santa Fe Capitol Grill, Santa Fe Steamer, Sup, Tune-Up Café, Turquoise Trail Bar & Grill at Buffalo Thunder, Whole Foods Market and Whole Hog Café.
