Casting call for upcoming major film on Feb. 2

Sarah Dowling Casting is conducting a national search for adult men (ages 18 – 60), women (ages 18 – 40), and children (ages 6–10) to be considered for roles in an upcoming family film to be filmed in Texas and New Mexico.

Casting directors are predominantly looking for people of African-American, Native American, or Latino descent.

The casting all will take place from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at The Nativo Lodge, 6000 Pan American Freeway NE.

It will consist of a brief talk with a member of the casting team and possibly an interview on camera. Interested parties may call our Information Line at 512-373-3269, though no appointment is necessary.

While acting experience is not necessary, the production will provide compensation on the scale of professional actors. Filmmakers are specifically looking for people have lean-to-medium muscular builds. We are very interested in those who have been trained in any type of sport, dance, or martial arts or who have had other movement training. No acting experience is necessary, but some dance, theatre or acting experience may be helpful.

We are also particularly interested in meeting with long jumpers and decathletes.

The film’s title and filmmakers’ names are being kept confidential during the casting process to protect the integrity of the picture. Filmmakers have previously been nominated for Academy Awards and have produced other critically-acclaimed films.

We will also be collecting submissions by email, and are available by phone to answer any questions about our casting process. We will be holding on-camera interviews with selected applicants who we feel may be a good fit for this project.

Interested parties may call our Information Line at 512-373-3269 or email us at SarahDowlingCasting@gmail.com.

Filming will commence in New Mexico in April 2012. Sarah Dowling has worked in casting on such films such as “Mud,” “Whip It” and “Tree of Life.”
