Starting today and continuing through February and March, Rio Rancho’s traffic cops will be stepping up enforcement along N.M. 528, KOB-TV reported.
The operation will involve the strict enforcement of traffic violations including (but not limited to) speeding, running red lights, tailgating and other traffic violations, Eyewitness News 4 said.
Officers also will be cracking down on drivers who fail to have current proof of insurance or registration and any other violations identified by police, according to KOB-TV.
Drivers stopped in the crackdown will be given “zero tolerance,” meaning they will be given tickets, not warnings, KOB-TV’s Antoinette Antonio said in this morning’s newscast.
