No Arrests Made in Shooting at Walmart

Police on Friday said no arrests have been made in connection with a man being shot in the stomach at the Walmart on Coors and Rio Bravo a day earlier.

Albuquerque police spokeswoman Tasia Martinez said a group fight started inside the South Valley store on Thursday and moved out to the parking lot, where shots were fired.

The victim, Junior Beltran, 25, was shot in the stomach and taken to University of New Mexico Hospital.

He was in stable condition Thursday. An update on his condition wasn’t available Friday.

Martinez said the group consisted of males and females, but police aren’t sure how many individuals were involved.

The suspect left in a silver crew cab Toyota Tacoma that had a missing tailgate, Martinez said.

Police on Friday said the investigation is ongoing.
