Sandia National Laboratories will conduct a controlled burn test between 8 a.m. and noon today at the Laurence Canyon burn site on Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia said in a news release.
A plume of black smoke visible in the Albuquerque area may be seen rising from the base during the test, according to the release.
The test will be burning wood for a shipping container classification test, and it will last an hour, Sandia Labs said.
