PORTALES (AP) — Farmers and ranchers in rural parts of Roosevelt County are finally getting broadband.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s state director traveled to Portales Tuesday to present a $12.3 million dollar certificate of obligation to the board of directors of the Roosevelt Telephone Cooperative for construction of a broadband system serving western Roosevelt County.
When completed the broadband service will give farmers and ranchers in the area access to up-to-the-minute commodity and weather information.
