The City of Albuquerque will hand out jump drives to caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients next week as part of the launch of the Silver Alert program.
Silver Alert is a public notification system that will broadcast information about missing persons who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease of dementia. The city will hand out free jump drives on Feb. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Barelas Senior Center, according to a news release from the city.
Officials will take a picture of the patient and help caregiver’s input information on the jump drive at the event. The jump drives can be given to the authorities if a loved one goes missing, so police can quickly get information out to the public.
