High winds and blowing dust are expected to affect the city of Albuquerque this afternoon.

The Environmental Health Department’s Air Quality Division issued a high wind and dust notice at 1:15 p.m., according to a news release from the city. The notice is in effect until 5 p.m.

People who are sensitive to blowing dust, such as those with asthma, chronic bronchitis and other respiratory and heart diseases, are encouraged to limit outdoor activity, the release said.
