Cold temperatures, snow and winds are moving towards New Mexico.
The National Weather Service issued a statement Monday morning warning New Mexicans of a developing storm that could reach the state midweek, bringing low temperatures, snow showers and gusty winds.
The storm, developing over the Canadian west coast, is expected to hit New Mexico Wednesday and stay until the first half of the weekend, the statement said.
Snow showers in the northeastern part of the state are expected to develop Wednesday morning. Heavy snow showers should begin to taper off Friday.
Gusty winds will come in before the storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The colder air will accompany the storm, with temperatures at 10 to 20 degrees below normal for early March.
