Utilities Help for Seniors

Public Service Company of New Mexico and Silver Horizons New Mexico will host a senior assistance fair on Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Highland Senior Center, 131 Monroe NE, in Albuquerque.

Income-eligible seniors can apply for up to $100 in utility bill help from the PNM Good Neighbor Fund, and people 60 and older can apply for Silver Horizons gas and electric bill assistance. In addition, up to $6,500 of free weatherization is available to people who qualify through Central New Mexico Housing Corp.

Other agencies will also be on hand, including the Senior Citizens Law Office, New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department, Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs and Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare.
