In Case You Missed It: Former Gov. Gary Johnson on the Colbert Report

Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, who is seeking the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination, appeared on the Colbert Report last night on Comedy Central.

The faux-blowhard Colbert, who models himself after FOX News’ Bill O”Reilly, took it pretty easy on Johnson, who was making his fourth appearance on the show. Johnson generally spoke about the Libertarian Party as becoming more mainstream in American politics. Bob Barr, the party’s presidential candidate in 2008, earned less than 1 percent of the national vote.

“Everything the Libertarian Party is talking about today is not so kooky,” Johnson told Colbert. “It’s really the prescription for what ails America.”

Johnson’s segment on the show begins at 15:22.
