NM drought worsens

I know it just rained, but one storm doesn’t seem to amount to a hill of beans in this crazy drought we’re having.

In today’s Drought Monitor, the federal team tracking conditions around the country colored northwest New Mexico yellow, an indication of worsening conditions there. That makes 100 percent of New Mexico now abnormally dry or worse:

With the extraordinarily warm, dry March, the latest runoff forecasts for the state out this week are dismal as well. I’ll have more on that later today, and in tomorrow’s newspaper.
