Two Juarez prostitutes were arrested Tuesday on homicide charges stemming from the death of a 19-year-old woman nearly four years ago, the El Paso Times reported.
Carolina Martinez Cardona, 23, and Maria Ines Jaramillo Ochoa, 21, allegedly killed Isabel Sosa Robles because Sosa would not sell drugs to them and refused to share her sex-work earnings with them, according to Chihuahua state prosecutors.
Sosa’s body was found in the Loma Blanca area of Juarez on June 28, 2008, the Times said. Her hands had been tied and she had been shot in the head.
Prosecutors said Martinez and Jaramillo allegedly sold drugs in the Valley of Juarez and were the leaders of a group of prostitutes who advertised their services in a Juarez newspaper, the Times reported.
